Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait celebrated Onam-Eid in grand style

Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait celebrated Onam-Eid on October 6th, 2017 at Jawaharat Al Salah School, Riggae. Mr. P.P Narayanan, Second Secretary, Embassy of India to Kuwait inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Association President Mr. Haneef.C presided over the inaugural function. General Secretary Mr. Shyjith.K explained the activities of the Association. Mr. Manoj Kumar Kappad gave Onam-Eid message. Association Patron Mr. Abdulla Kollorath, Al Mulla Exchange Marketing Manager Mr. Huzefa Abbasi and Mahilavedi President Mrs. Smitha Raveendran offered felicitations.

Children of Association members who excelled in Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations were honoured on the occasion with mementos. The Award instituted by the Association in the name of Late Moideenkoya, for the highest scorer in Higher Secondary Examination was bagged by Master Fahad.P. Ranjith Pilakkat Memorial Award instituted to honour the highest scorer in Secondary School Examination was bagged by Miss. Rashada and the awards were presented to the parents by the Association Patron Mr. Kunhiraman.K.T. Association also honoured other students who scored high marks in Secondary school exam. Shahma Gafoor, Fathima Rinu Rafeeque P, Mohammed Shamil Sabeer Mandoli, Ali Aflah P, Namitha Sivakumar, Ahammed Nibras K, Kripa Sivadasan, Vishnu M and Manu K received memento from Patron.

General Convener Mr. Vineesh.P.V welcomed the gathering and Association Treasurer Mr. Das.K.T expressed vote of thanks. Mr. Ramakrishnan.M and Miss. Namitha Sivakumar compered the day long program. A beautiful ‘Pookkalam’ was arranged at the venue by Mr. Abdul Nisar and team. The celebration was memorable with the attendance of large number of members, presence of the eminent personalities of social, cultural, economic and commercial field of Kuwait. Kozhikode district association family celebrated the joyous day with traditional and cultural programs of Kerala and Kuwait including Onam songs, Thiruvathirakali, Oppana, Vanchipattu, Kolkkali, Kavitha, Ganamela, Mappilappattu, Cinimatic dance, …etc. The lip-smacking ‘Onasadya’ was the main highlight which was served to more than thousand persons who took part in the celebrations.

Maveli, the symbolic representation of king Mahabali blessed all of the association members and was present throughout the day to cherish the celebrations. The participation of large number of members, variety of programs by Mahilavedi, Balavedi and members exhibited the great talents of the association members and which made the Onam-Eid celebration to the grand success. Association thanks all of who attended the function to share the love and happiness of Onam and Eid with us.
