Angamaly Pravasi Association Kuwait (APAK) celebrated PONNONAM 2017 on October 6th, 2017 at Indian Central School Auditorium Abbassiya. APAK Onam Celebration 2017 was another example of fostering fraternity among the Indian Expatriate Community and the people of Kuwait. This celebration was the seventh its kind since we commenced our services in Kuwait. Mr.Anwar Sadath, Member of Legislative Assembly, Aluva-Kerala the Chief Guest of Ponnonam-2017 inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.
APAK President Mr.Sajeev Paul Palatty presided over the inaugural function and explained the activities of the Association. General Secretary Mr.Bijo George Mangaly welcomed all to the APAK Ponnonam-2017. Mr.Ajith Kumar, Pravasi Welfare Board member given a very meaningful Onam message. Former Angamaly Block Panchayat President Mrs.Mary Antony, APAK founder member Mr.Saju Geo Thachil, Former APAK President Mr.Johnson Arackal offered felicitations. Mrs.Luciya R.Williams compered the program very lively throughout the end. APAK Ponnonam-2017 Souvenir released by Anwar Sadath MLA during the meeting and handed over to the program convener Mr.Nigy Paily.Treasurer Mr.Martin Kurian expressed his sincere gratitude to all who helped to make APAK Ponnonam-2107 become colorful and grand success.
APAK member’s children who excelled in Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations were honored on the occasion and a token of appreciation mementos were handed over to the children by the MLA Mr.Anwar Sadath. Also with all respect a memento handed over to Mr.C.K.Kurian who is an active member of APAK from the beginning of the association who is leaving Kuwait for good.
Cultural programs started at 5 pm. The participation of large number of members, variety of programs by Famous playback Singers Ms.Riyana Raj(Sun TV Super Singer & Performer), Mr.Razik Rahman(Amritha TV Super Troupe best Performer), Mr.Shaji Vincent and famous Serial Actor and Comedy Artist Mr.Sudhi Kalabhavan which made the PONNONAM-2017 celebration to the grand success. Joint Secretary and Arts committee convener Mr.Jinto Varghese and his team well organized and beautifully executed the programs on the stage. Floral decoration done by Mr.Anto Paul and team, Ghoshayathra led by vice president and volunteer committee convener Mr.Poly Augusthy and team.Thiruvathira, Singarimelam, Fusion dances by DK Dance group, Ganamela and comedy show, which were entertained the audience. Above all a sumptuous Onam Sadya served to around 1000 attendees. Social welfare committee convener Mr.Satheesh Nair and team very well managed to serve the onam sadya on time.
Maveli, the symbolic representation of king Mahabali blessed all association members and was present throughout the day to cherish the celebrations.. Association thanks all who attended the function to share the love and happiness of Kerala traditional festival and program ended at 9 pm. Special Thanks to All Sponsors and Supporters, Mr.Jose Varghese Panjikaran (Auditor & Program Committee Joint Convenor), Mr.Paul Palatty (Office Secretary) and all other Advisary Board Committee & managing Committee members. APAK PONNONAM-2017 marked as one of the best Onam celebrations since its beginning and added one more feather to APAK’s crown.
