1,467,368 ‘indirect traffic violations’ recorded in 10 days

1,467,368 ‘indirect traffic violations’ recorded during the first 10 days of October 2017, local daily reported.

In this 1,157,607 of them are for exceeding the speed limit and 135,201 for jumping the red signal, daily added.

The ‘indirect violations’ are those which are recorded by traffic camera or by senior ministry officials in which case a motorist is not stopped while the offence is being committed.

Earlier, the authorities started implementing stiff penalties for traffic violations, which include impounding your car for up to 2 months for over speeding, use of mobile phone while driving and driving without wearing seat belts.
