The Mega Science Festival "Shaastrotsav" attracted huge crowd

The much awaited Mega Shaastrotsav - Festival of Science attracted large number of students and parents alike at Al Zumuruda Hall on Friday, December 8th. The Shaastrotsav organized by NSS College of Engineering Association Kuwait chapter in association with prominent Community portal IndiansinKuwait.com became the venue of Scientific excellence by the Indian school students.

Students from all over Kuwait exhibited exciting and innovative Science projects at Shaastrotsav, which generated the interest in Science and Technology among the large crowd.

Earlier, Sri Anup Singh from Indian Embassy inaugurated the Shaastrotsav 2017. "I congratulate IIK and NSS College Alumni Association for bringing up this unique idea of Shaastrotsav," Anup Singh said. "Unlike the usual dance and song event, this is a kind of event which will definitely benefit the students," he added.

Shaastrotsav 2017 convener Jijo Augustin welcomed the audience while NSS College Association President Mr Viju Sebastian presided the inaugural ceremony. Mr Arun David, General Convener, Kuwait Engineers Forum TEF President Muthukumar, Mr Sunoj Nambiar, Karthikeyan, Vinod APA Nair, Sunil Jacob, Justin Jospeh etc attend the inauguration event. Prominent academicians, principals and other dignitaries also attended the inauguration ceremony.



Around 80 students participated teh Rubic Cube solving contest, which created new record in the history of Shaastrotsav by solving the rubic cube in 10 seconds time!



140 students from around 17 Indian schools in Kuwait participated in the science exhibition projects, which attracted large number of students and public. In addition to this, 15 teams participated in the open category exhibition. Various professional forums such as ASSE, IEI etc. and members of other engineering college alumni also exhibited their projects at this year Shaastrotsav.

Most of the students were focusing the use of alternative energy and conversation of energy. Creating water harvesting roads, Operating of machines with air pressure, Laser based security systems etc attracted the interest of science loving community.

Robotic football tournament

Another attraction for this year Shaastrotsav is the first ever Robotic football tournament in Kuwait. Robotic football is a classic soccer game played with two autonomous robots which chase an infra-red transmitting ball around a table top football field with the aim to score more goals. Around 7 teams participated in the tournament with excellent programming skill to search for the ball and put it in the goal post. The audience were mesmerized with the Robotic football tournament, which was projected in the large screen for the benefit of large crowd.



Evening program started with the Robotic show presentation by RoboCart.com. The dancing of the robot to the tune of popular song "Gangnam style..." attracted the large crowd.

The key note speech by Super 30 fame famous educationalist Mr. Anand Kumar was a real inspiration to the large number of students and parents gathered for the evening program. How we can achieve our goals, he demonstrated from his own life, gave a real inspiration to the students in Kuwait.




TeamIndus team who made a presentation about their mission and demonstrated the model of the rover they are planning to send to moon. TeamIndus is the only Indian team selected for the prestigious Google Lunar Mission. Their story gave an inspiration to the audience.
