Teacher, the flame in the darkness

You look so free
You worry for us
You fear, you’re scared
You try to keep us from trouble
You try to stay calm
But we just don’t let you
We play pranks
We don’t listen
We end up keeping you stressed
You don’t know what to do
But you still love us
We have no idea
What you do for us
You mediate for us
Whatever mistake we make
When we cry
You feel it’s your mistake
When we laugh
You laugh with us
We make mistakes
You correct us
You make mistakes
But you don’t mind
When we correct you
‘Cause you know we learn through mistakes
Even mistakes others make
You try not to make mistakes
But love it when we correct you

‘Cause we learn to teach and correct others
You know you don’t know everything
But you’re happy to learn
To teach us in turn
You don’t care
What others say about us
Because you know us
We are your children
You feel sad when we leave
When we forget you
But you never forget us
But when we look back
We have changed
We won’t remember who changed us
As our memories fade away
We are thankful to you
And you are proud of what
We have achieved
‘Cause you’ve raised us
And we are the best fruits of your tree
