Public Authority for Manpower preparing new job descriptions; NOC mandatory for more professions

The Public Authority for Manpower is preparing new job descriptions for technical professions such as doctors, engineers and media professionals.

According to local media report, this is aimed at organizing the market, reforming the demographic imbalance and confronting residency trafficking.

The new job descriptions will be declared in coordination with public and private bodies. This step aims at comparing the job title mentioned in the work permit to the educational certificate. Both public and private sector companies have to specify the doctors’ specializations in the work permits based on the letter of profession practice issued by Ministry of health.

The report also added that n-objection letter will be mandatory for more professions. As per the latest rule by PAM, engineers must present no objection letters issued by Kuwait Engineers Society. Similar steps are beingtaken for media professionals and in case the work permit includes profession of announcer, news presenter, editor and journalist, they must get a no-objection letter issued by Ministry of Information.
