Kuwait's Ministry of Interior affirmed on Thursday that the activation of the law for minor accidents would reflect positively on traffic, leading to less congestion.

"This law, which took effect in the Capital Governorate on June third, will be applied on minor traffic accidents that have no injuries or casualties," Interior Ministry official Jamal Al-Raish said in a press conference.

"The driver that causes any minor accident must pay a fine of KD 20 (USD 66) at the nearest police station," he added.

Al-Raish pointed out that in case of a minor accident between two or more vehicles, without conciliation among-st the drivers, they must head to the nearest police station to proceed with the regular procedures.
