1,024 held in Amghara raid; 280 expats to be deported

A total of 1,024 violators of law were detained during an extensive security campaign launched by officers from Ministry of Interior in Amghara area in the presence of Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam AlNaham.

According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the officers released 744 individuals after they presented their identification documents, and referred 280
expatriates for deportation.

Among the arrested individuals, 43 were reported as absconding, 46 are in violation of the residency law, 80 did not have any identification documents, four are wanted by law for their involvement in civilian cases, 45 were yet to complete their residency procedures, 60 were working under visa of Article No. 20, and two were involved in cases related to drugs and liquor.

The officers also issued 300 traffic citations and seized 15 vehicles which were referred to the seized vehicle garage. Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship Affairs also participated in the campaign along with a number of high-ranking officers.

Ministry of Interior affirmed that such security campaigns will continue in all areas of Kuwait.
