No petrol stations will be closed, KNPC clarifies

Spokesman of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) Basem Al-Isa refuted reports that some filling stations will be closed tomorrow Wednesday due to forecasted downpour.

Operation at all filling stations countrywide, including those belonging to KNPC subsidiaries Oula and Al-Soor, goes on normally amid the current unstable weather, he told news agency.

Eng. Al-Isa advised citizens not to heed groundless allegations that could unjustifiably trigger panic or prompt rush at the gas stations.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) Mohammad Al-Mutairi said on Tuesday, the company was ready to face any emergency due to heavy rains expected to fall on the country within the coming hours.

Al-Mutairi told that two emergency rooms were formed in Mina Abdullah and Mina Al-Ahmadi refineries, in addition to many other measures were taken.

Meteorologist Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi have predicted that unstable weather will hit the country on Wednesday, where it will remain unsteady for the coming three days.
