Kuwait Odisha Association -(KOA), organized Beach Cleanup Drive

Kuwait Odisha Association -(KOA), organized a Beach Cleanup Drive on 4th January 2019 at Mahboula Beach. Around 100 members from the Association participated in the event.

The program started with a welcome speech from KOA President Mr. Ashok Lenka welcomed all the participants and lauded their efforts in keeping our environment clean. He informed the participants that “Our goal for Cleanup Day at Mahboula Beach is not only to pick up every piece of trash we can reach, but also to educate the public on the responsibility of keeping our beaches clean and thus save our environment”.

The objective of this initiative was to build an awareness of the problems that are caused by garbage left on the beaches and implement activities to alter the population and visitor’s behavior so that they do not throw waste materials in the beach.

The Cleanup Drive started at 3:30 PM and finished till 5.00 PM. During the closing notes Mr. Biswa Ranjan Sahoo, General Secretary, Kuwait Odisha Association, (KOA), thanked all participants - Mr. Ashok Senapati, Mr. Umesh Basantia, Mr. Upendra Beuria &

Volunteers- Debadatta Samal, Pramod Moharana, Rabindra Sethi, Laxman Singh, Pravanjaya Nayak, Sushanta Sahoo, Nirmala Swain,Harish biswa, Makardwas Pradhan, Manas Raul, Prakash Das, Suresh Prusty, Tuna Sahu, Gobardhan Nayak, Hemanta Sahoo, Gobardhan. Finally, the program concluded with the distribution of lunch and participation certificates.
