SIMS organised 3rd Open 5-A Side Football Tournament

At SIMS it is believed that every child should be inculcated with the values of teamwork and sportsmanship, and what better way to move forward in the direction than having a Grand Football Tournament at their own school!!

SIMS organised 3rd Open 5-A Side Football Tournament at the SIMS playground with Physical Education Head of the department, Dr. Shyam as the main organiser. 67 teams from different schools and clubs across the country participated in the Tournament. The teams were divided into different categories. There were five categories for boys-Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16, while the girl’s had two categories to compete in, Under 14 and Under 19. The matches were played on 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of January 2019.

The matches were played with great zeal and fervour, each player putting his best foot forward. The pulsating matches witnessed some of the best footwork on the ground and to acknowledge such promising players, one player from each category was chosen as The Most Promising Player and awarded at the end of the tournament.

With around 476 players taking part in the Tournament, the Closing Ceremony was a grand affair. SIMS principal Ms. Anita Sadanand distributed around 182 prizes to the different teams and players.The awards were not only for those played exceptionally well but also for those who had showed the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.
SIMS came out in flying colours as they bagged the following prizes.

Winners and Second Runners Up —Under 8 Boys Category
First Runners Up—Under 10 Boys category
Winners and Second Runners Up—Under 14 Girls Category
Second Runners Up—Under 19 Girls category

Three students from SIMS, Maryam Mohammad (4F), Omar Alaa (Upper KG A ), and Baitullah Khan (2A) got the Most Promising Player award for their dedication and extraordinary talent.
