A high-level delegation from India including MHRD Director Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Ministry of External Affairs Joint Secretary Dr. Nagendra Prasad visited Kuwait for discussion with Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) to solve the long pending issue of Indian Engineers in Kuwait.

In their meeting with Deputy Director General for Planning and Administrative Development of PAM Mubarak Al-Azmi, the high-level delegation from India discussed the issue of Indian engineers accreditation and the need for developing a solution so that the Indian engineers can continue in their jobs in Kuwait. There are many Indian engineers working in Kuwait and graduated from institutes and universities which are not under NBA Accreditation. Those engineers are unable to get KSE membership which is mandatory for the renewal of Engineers residency in Kuwait.

According to source, the PAM officials explained the delegation that this subject is coordinated with the Kuwait Society of Engineers to implement the decisions regarding the accreditation of non-Kuwaiti engineers.

The high-level Indian delegation also visited Kuwait Society of Engineers president Faisal Al-Attal and discussed the way of finding a solution to this issue.

"KSE will be providing direct communication facility for colleagues in India to communicate with KSE accreditation staff regarding the verification of the certificates", Faisal Al-Attal said.

The Indian delegation also held discussion with Kuwait University officials. The high-level committee will coordinate with Kuwaiti authorities to sort out the issue of Indian engineers in Kuwait.
