ICSK Khaitan Students Make Field Trip to Desalination & Power Plant

Science students of Class XII and XI of the Indian Community School Kuwait-Khaitan, were set off to the desalination plant in Doha as annual educational field trips on Monday and Tuesday, 29th and 30th of April 2019, respectively. The trip to the plant was organized under the guidance of Engineer Syed Haneef from MEW.









On the first day 31 Students along with the Principal Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath and the class teacher Mrs. Vasanthi Suresh reached the plant. The group started their inquisitive visit around 9 am under the guidance of the safety engineers. On the second day, class XI visited with Mrs Sumitha Mr. Vinish. The groups were taken to each of the procedure sites one by one including the sea water collection chamber, chlorine evaporation chambers, water purification chambers, the boiler plants and finally the turbines that turn to produce electricity. According to the senior officials at the plant, the desalinated water that is used to produce electricity is later used as drinking water after further purification in a nearby plant. This experiential learning trip ended at the place where the turbines were situated and the students set back to school by 12:00 noon.On behalf of the entire ICSK Khaitan, the school management appreciated the activity and thanked Eng. Haneef & the safety employees for having organized such informative trip that would definitely motivate students to pursue study in the field of science.
