“Cooking is all about people. Food is may be the only universal thing that really has the power to bring everyone together. No matter what culture, everywhere around the world, people come together to eat.”

On 4th May 2019 the Xth, XIth and XIIth graders of Intergrated Indian School exhibited their culinary skills in the Inter- House Cookery Competition: THE ULTIMATE COOK-OFF 2019-20. It was a magnificent sight when the young students donned their ‘Chef Apron’ and geared up to participate with full exuberance and zeal. The competition for classes XIth and XIIth was a scrumptious five course meal including appetizers, main course, salads, drinks and desserts. The competition for class Xth was based on the theme ‘Cooking without Fire’ including starters, salads, drinks, desserts and a fine-dining table set-up. Vegetable and fruit carving for presentation was included as well. The food items were displayed in the most artistic and exquisite manner. Cooking without fire brought out the best of creativity and innovation in the students. The judges for the event were Chef Sunil of Al Hamrah Hotel and Mrs. Jesny Shameer, winner of the LuLu Hypermarket Food Carnival competitions 2019. Live water-melon carving by Chef Sunil upraised the energy and mood of the students. The judges were spell-bound by the culinary skills of the budding cooks and their knowledge of how to balance taste and nutrition.

Planning, team-spirit, cooperation, organization and execution of the students and their guides made this event an incredibly successful one and the students took back a lot of memories which will be engraved in their hearts forever.
