“ Handwriting is an imprint of the self on the page.”

Indian Central School: Primary wing conducted Hand writing week and Handwriting competition for the students. Handwriting is more connected to the movement of the heart. It activates the brain more than the keyboarding because it involves more complex motor and cognitive skills. In order to include the habit of practicing good handwriting among the children this event was conducted in April. Handwriting is essential skill for children. It contributes to fluency of reading because it activates visual perception of letters. It was conducted in order to develop their fine motor skills, confidence, and most importantly their own style of writing in cursive. The criteria for the judgment were neatness, letter formation, spelling, spacing and line keeping. The competition was held in their respective classes and all the students participated and made an attempt to improvise their handwriting skills. Students have excelled in their effort and presented beautiful handwriting. We thank our Principal Dr. Shantha Maria James for giving such opportunities to students.
