Kuwait based Indian poetess Nazneen Ali Naaz received Prestigious "Dr. Noor Amrohvi Award"

Kuwait based Indian poetess Nazneen Ali Naaz received Prestigious "Dr. Noor Amrohvi Award" from Awami Rai Newspaper, Mumbai.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, 8th March 2024, popular weekly newspaper Awami Rai organized an International Poetry event in which famous Urdu poets participated in the presence of many political and intellectual dignitaries. On this occasion, Kuwait based writer and poetess Nazneen Ali Naaz was awarded "Dr. Noor Amrohvi Award" for her work and contribution in promoting and propagating Urdu language. She received the award from Padmshree Dr Zahir Kazi and MLA Amin Patel in presence of Dr. Yusuf Abrahni, Dr Suhail Lokhandwala, Dr. Mohammed Ali Patinkar, Dr. Fatima Patinkar, Dr. Allauddin Sheikh and other famous personalities. Nazneen Ali recited beautiful poetry related to the occasion which received much applaud from the connoisseur audience of Mumbai.

Prior to this she participated in the 5th International Poetry Evening in Hyderabad on 5th March organized by All India Daag Dehlvi Foundation under the convenorship of Syed Miskeen , where also she was much appreciated by the audience for her poetic content and rendition.

Though a banker by profession, Naaz continues to pursue her interest in literature. She is predominantly an Urdu Poetess who has also written a Novel "Khalish" in Urdu and Hindi. She also writes in English and is a regular contributor to leading newspaper of India and Kuwait where she writes on social issues and subjects of public interest. Earlier also Naaz has received various prestigious awards including Shaan E Urdu Award, Sahir Ludhiyanwi Award, Subhadra Kumari Award, Dinkar Award, etc. She is the General Secretary of the Writer’s Forum Kuwait and Executive Member of Gulf Urdu Council.
