Kuwait again suspends issuing work permits for Egyptians

Kuwait once again suspended issuing work permit for Egyptian nationals, local Arabic daily Al Jarida reported.

According to report, the suspension is based on complaints received from the employers about a new controls put by the Egyptian authorities regarding insurance fee for each worker from Egypt.

The report added that the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Manpower are in the process of establishing new and strict controls on the recruitment of Egyptian workers, with priority given to issuing permits for those holding advanced degrees and specializations required for the Kuwaiti labour market.

Issuing work permits for Egyptians was suspended by Kuwait for almost sixteen months to restart the same at the beginning of April this year.
