Electricity connected to new Airport Terminal, marking milestone

The new airport terminal (Terminal 2) project achieved a significant milestone as it received its electricity connection on Tuesday, May 7th. The Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) initiated the operation of two main electricity stations to supply power to the terminal, following the completion of all necessary procedures.

This marks the initial phase and signifies the commencement of the final countdown towards the project's completion.

The establishment of the electricity connection paves the way for the project to proceed with the remaining tasks, including the installation of air conditioning, cladding, furniture, and other essential elements, sources said.

The new terminal building is expected to start functioning by next year, sources said.
