@ tj English name on CIVIL ID has to match with passport. In some cases fathers full name is added to the first two names - this is OK as long as you are travelling to your home country. The Indian immigration officials are aware of this folly from Kuwait officials & besides the fathers name is mentioned on Indian passport - they will consider it. If you wish to change it then you have to approach your area jawazaat office with a typed application for name change. They may or may not ask you to do finger print. If they do ask then you will be issued a paper which you have to take for finger print then get it stamped by the "yelling officers" on duty (Be patient or get thrown out). After 3 or 4 days go back to jawazaat they will give you a printout confirming name change. This printout has to be taken to PACI for name correction (Don''t use envelope)...They will change it in system and you can reapply for new civil ID....All the best !

If your first name is John and sur name is Pinto then in your CID the name will be written as John Pinto and then your fathers name for example Anthony Pinto. So your CID will shows as Below John Pinto Anthony Pinto.
