Insanity to service a 2014 model ordinary vehicle with dealer. Get your oil change done with a local garage or try the likes of AUTO1. For repairs use some shop in sharq or shuwaikh.

@Jimmy I don''t know what exactly Expatriate is referring to....But I will share what I know. Duster 2018 and previous models use conventional gear box and for that you have to replace timing belt at about 80k kms and this will cost you appoz. 280 - 300kd at the service centre. I don''t know the exact cost because this is what I was told by their service engineer. Model from 2019 onwards they are having CVT gear box which does not require this timing belt replacement. ( Probably they will be using timing chain instead of timing belt which is having same life of the engine. Anyway I am not an expert in this ) I am using 2019 model Duster

EXPATRIATE''s 2014 duster
If your dealership services are expired. u need not bind yourself to the service center only. you can go into the market and look for cheaper option. There are good garage around. Although Service center will give you warranty which is next to not existent with these roadside garage but that you will not whine for the price as you have to do today with 350. KD. With all that said your break up details of the 350 KD. will enable the forum to provide you with more insight that you are seeking for.
That being so, Mayflower (near british academy - little ahead of KFC) in Salmiya block 12 is a ok go-to garage for indians... Ph: 97993834. You can ask him for estimate for what work you got done from the dealer and see the difference.
PS: Of course the amount and overhead with service center will always be skyrocket high..its what they earn their business in...Bottom line personally i dont see the quality with authorized service center becoz especially in kwt garage, authorized center or merchandisers not one has the customer care culture imbibed in them. So you can expect any sloppiness, reworks unless there are ethics in the workers working in those workplaces. This is generalization...but it is so familiarly true...

Better go with some other car rather then going with Duster. Duster has no resale Value. And these roadside Mechanics has no experience at all in repairing any Car. The Car these days are Automatic and computerized which local garage has no idea how to repair. They simply repair wrong part and the car will have always issues. Guys never ever go to Local Garage for computerized cars if the cars are new. Incase you have to change Oil and filter then Local Garage is fine or else your care will be gone for ever and never to come back.

Poor man
I would like to ask the experts for advice . If my car is still under warranty should I continue the periodic maintenance at the service center as to not loose my warranty .Is the warranty really worth the cost of expensive service center charges .or just do it outside .

Poor man''s warranty
Plain answer "No". Their ancillary charges, material (oil, hoses, belt, etc) usually would cost way-way more than the garage rates.
But the point here is not that. No new vehicle owner would want to risk by going to a roadside garage for the routine service calls in these under warranty years and God forbid but something goes wrong with the garage guy (which usually might not) but does. Then you are doomed. Not only you have to repay for rework with garage (becoz garage guy will put the blame as though it is a existing problem discovered there and then) and auth. service center will not take the responsibility. And you will not be able to do much about it.
So its a double edge sword and the burden comes on to the owners of the vehicle. This is a wicked market economy that has boomed. And you have to live with it.
So bottom line most average joe owner will continue with the service center only regardless of how less the same service it cost him outside... This is why Govt. has stipulated the salary cap (ceiling of the salary cap is debatable but thats another issue)
