Tuesday, January 22, 2019

45% decline reported in the number of people deported from this country in 2018 compared to that in 2017. According to report, a total of 17,000 expatriates were deported from the country in 2018 compared to 29,000 in 2017.

The source said the drop in the number of residency violators is the main reason behind the drop in the number of deportees. The ministry also said to have issued new instructions not to deport any expatriate arbitrarily or illegally.

The sources explained in 2016 about 31,000 people were deported after a series of security campaigns in the country during that period.

It is also reported that the main reasons behind deportations are residency violations and
felonies, especially those related to traffic.
