National Forum (NAFO) Kuwait conducted Kudumbasangamam-2019

National Forum (NAFO) Kuwait conducted ‘Kudumbasangamam’ on 01st February, 2019, at Indian Public School auditorium, Salmiya. The event which started at 10:15AM and concluded at 3:00PM, was attended by large number of NAFO members and their families. This event was organized in order to further enlighten the members about the need and importance of social togetherness, to promote like-mindedness and to preserve the existing harmonious and cordial family friendships in NAFO.

The day started with lighting the ceremonial lamp by elder members in NAFO family followed by a beautiful invocation song by a group of NAFO Gurukulam disciples.

Organizing Secretary, Vinayan Mangalasseri, welcomed the gathering, which was followed with the presentation of condolence resolution proposed by Jayaraj Nair Edathil-Convener of the event, for those who lost lives during last colossal floods in Kerala. In his brief he updated the audience an abstract of relief work undertaken by NAFO during the peak days of flood as first phase and the monetary supports granted to deserving families’ towards the re-instating of their damaged houses among five districts, the catastrophe was peak to the core.

R. Vijayakrishnan, NAFO President presided the meeting and briefed an overall update on the activities, socio-welfare services, upcoming plans, importance of beholding the values and principles of mutual family bonds, and through which attain the ultimate vision and mission of NAFO. Out-going students of the year, Ameya Prabhathkar, Rithka Sajeev, Prithwi Menon were honored with NAFO Gold Medals and appreciation certificates and meritorious students who excelled in the last 10th grade CBSC examinations were also awarded with medals, gifts and certificate of excellence. Out-going kid Raghav Udayakumar also blessed in the event with gifts and certificate.

“NAFO Young Achievers Award” instituted for recognizing, rewarding and celebrating the out-standing achievements of NAFO kids in various aspects of life such as co-curricular or extra-curricular activities was bestowed on Rohitha Nair along with other four out-standing contenders Adwaita Unnikrishnan, Rohith S. Nair, Anjana Raviprasad and Aishwarya Gopukumar selected for Encouragement Awards.

Spectacular dance-drama “Nama Ramayanam” staged by the talent bank of NAFO Gurukulam, directed by Darshana Jayadevan and coordinated by Jayalakshmi Promod was the main highlight of the day. Series of semi-classical dances, electrifying fusion/cinematic dances and melodious song performances were enthralled the audience.

Kudumbasangamam venue also witnessed the first release of program flyer and entry coupon of up-coming mega cultural event ‘NAFO NAVANEETHAM’. Special thanks to Shri. Shaiju Mohandas (Lulu Ex. Co.), Shri. Renjith Pillai (Unimoni Ex. Co.), Shri. Ramdas (BEC), Shri. R.S. Nair (Behbehani), KAN Kartha for their benevolent presence and lively participation.

NAFO Advisory Board members, Dr. Prasad Nair and Treasurer Vijayakumar Menon, felicitated the awardees with their thoughtful messages. V.R. Vijayan Nair, P. Rajan Menon (AB) P.B. Nair, Sreekumar Pillai, Rajiv Menon, A.R. Subbaraman and P.S. Krishnakumar (EC) distributed medals and certificates along with other invited well-wishers.

The resolution on expressing solidarity of the recent reservation bill implemented for economically weaker sections proposed by General Secretary M.S. Nair and seconded by ON. Sureshkumar-General Committee Convener was unanimously passed and loudly applauded by the members and their families.

NAFO Ladies Wing Co-ordination Committee, was democratically and unanimously re-constituted during the event guided by NAFO Advisory Board. An overwhelming number of 17 ladies offered to serve as members of the new Ladies Wing Coordination Committee. Outgoing Ladies Wing were thanked and widely appreciated for their previous commendable contributions and initiatives in conducting cultural events, Gurukulam-value education scheme, women empowerment programs and celebrating. Membership cards for new members were also distributed.

Event Convener Jayaraj Nair proposed vote of thanks. Sumptuous lunch served for all attendees.
