IIT-IIM Alumni Association, Kuwait Celebrates a Grand Musical Night at the Iconic Kuwait Towers

IIT-IIM Alumni Association, Kuwait Celebrates with members, families, friends and distinguished guests a Grand Musical Night at the Iconic Kuwait Towers

IIT-IIM Alumni Association, Kuwait, in association with their families, friends, and distinguished guests organized a grand gabqa and iftar night combined with quiz sessions at the majestic and iconic Kuwait Towers lovely Horizons restaurant on the eighty second floor on the Friday, the 10th May, 2019 in the holy month of Ramadan. The fraternity had a whale of a time in the august and affectionate company of their families, invited friends, guests from notable organizations and Indian Business and Professional Council, Kuwait. The star of this grand musical extravaganza was the renowned local professional singer Mr. Kabeer who along with some our members and enthusiastic guests enthralled the audience by winding them through a journey of mellifluous, beautiful and nostalgic tunes.

The Program began with the Mr. Bal, a very energetic Core committee member who coordinated and compered the session inviting the members and guests to the musical cum Bollywood songs and Cricket audio quiz. The IIT-IIM Alumni Association President, Mr. Peeyush Jain gave a sweet but brief welcome speech presenting the motto behind the evening program, as the Alumni was having the music program with local talent instead of inviting from India. This year too, the program was arranged to show case the in house as well as local professional singers’ talent by providing a platform of singing as well as meeting and greeting their friends.

The musical event itself began with Mr. Bhushan Joshi, the General Secretary, welcoming the singer, guests, and members. Mr. Bal presented a brief introduction of the invited local professional singing star of the evening, Mr. Kabeer. Mr. Bal, Mr. Anis and Mr. Ashish, the musically bent trio of the event conceived, planned and conducted an audio based Bollywood songs quiz and Cricket Quiz, with several attendees winning prizes.

As soon as the celebrated singer took the floor, he won the hearts of the audience with his mesmerizing mellifluous melodies of the popular yesteryears film songs. During the whole program of three long plus hours the audience were treated to the best of popular numbers, while they enjoyed with continuous foot tapping, and clapping. The singer Mr. Kabeer, who with his perfect singing performance kept the program alive all through and enthralled the audience fully, living up to his excellent reputation. Several of the members, and their family along with few talented singers from invitees too sang some lovely numbers. The attendees were mesmerized and appreciated the singers through their rhythmic clapping and often singing aloud with the singers.

Earlier, Mr. Bhushan presented a brief bio of one of our distinguished members, Mr. Pankaj Khudasia, an IIT-BHU and Roorkee alumnus, and an employee of KOC over 25 years, who passed away recently. The members observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. He was fondly remembered as he was not only present at the very same venue and event last year but also sang two lovely songs.

Mr.Peeyush Jain, the President of IIT-IIM Alumni Association welcomed all the distinguished guests which included three Principals and several CEOs & CFOs. The three Principals, Mrs. Anju Dhiman, FAIPS-DPS, Mrs. Shanta Maria James, ICS, and Mr. Binumon, ICSK, were honored for their yeoman service in the field of education by playing a vital role in preparing the future generations to excel in their chosen professions. To recognize their continued support to the IIT-IIM Association ever since its inception, the association offered them the honorary membership of IIT-IIM Alumni association. They were also presented with Alumni mementoes. Other distinguished guests present were Mr. Ajay Goel, COO, City Centre, Anant Kapadia, General Secretary, IBPC, Rajul Batra, CFO, AlShaya, Mr.Vishwanath, Bank of Oman, Mr. Ashok Kamtan, a septuagenarian alumnus, of KNPC, who was celebrating his golden jubilee year of his graduation from his IIT, and Mr. Ramadoss, CEO, GTC.

The attendees during entire event were well treated with a wide range of delicious snacks, and sumptuous dinner at the majestic Horizons Restaurant located in the sphere of the Kuwait Tower.

Finally, the event ended with Mr. Bhushan Joshi, General Secretary of the Association proposing vote of thanks. He thanked all the artists and particiapants for their amazing mesmerizing melodious performance. He thanked all the invited guests and members who graced this musical evening along with their families and friends.

Earlier during the interval, the President, Mr.Peeyush Jain, felicitated the artiste. He also thanked his entire Core Team, especially Mr. Bhshan and Mr, Bal. The other core team members Vipul, Calai, Anis, Ashish, Yogesh, Suresh and Srinivas made sure all the guests and fraternity are comfortable while ensuring all the event arrangements. All the Core Committee members worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success and a cherishing one for the members and their families.
