IES plunges in Yoga Day celebrations-2019

Since the inception of International Yoga Day in the year 2015, Bhavans Kuwait has been celebrating the day of yoga with great enthusiasm and commitment. Yoga, which is the union of an individual with his/ her inner divine consciousness, was beautifully materialized on June 20, 2019 in the premises of Indian Education School, Kuwait, 21st June being a Friday. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, once said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition which embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment and harmony between man and nature. It is a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with oneself, the world and the nature by changing one’s lifestyle and creating consciousness.” So, to promote the quality of a student’s life, and help them manifest their harmony with the world, Bhavans sticks to the ancient tradition that caters to the needs of the present generation.

The warm morning of June 20, caressed Bhavanites with a note on the importance of yoga, which is the best scheme to demonstrate the axiom, ‘In a healthy body dwells a healthy mind’. Some of the yoga enthusiasts led from the front and steered the students and the teachers clad in serene white attire, in a mass yoga demonstration. Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar, the Vice Principal of Primary Wing, IES, addressed the yoga participants by sharing her treasured experience on yoga at the Times Square NY – USA where she witnessed a gathering of 10,000 plus enthusiasts performing YOGA, and encouraged the teachers and students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration. Under the guidance of Mrs. Madhusmita Acharya, a well-trained yoga professional of Indian Education School, Kuwait, the students and the teachers found themselves doing various asanas with great glee. Warm up steps were performed, and all the partakers followed the asanas without any hesitancy. Most of the asanas were demonstrated and depicted in its utmost perfection. The participants soon came to grips with the realization that such asanas could be accomplished by anybody and they could help the development of mental and physical state of life.

The celebration concluded with harmonized physical relaxation techniques including laughing stridently and rubbing the palms of hands in order to find a connection between their mind, soul and body.
