Anybody can get 1k salary and manager designation in kuwait on papers. Good bank statement also not difficult to get and American people know that. Important thing is have you been to any other countries as a tourist since last 5 years?

Hi KK, What is the purpose of your visit to USA ? That is the moot and main (and sometimes the ONLY) question asked. If the authorities in the embassy have even an iota of doubt that you may turn out to be an illegal immigrant - who once after entering the country will duck under the law & disappear, be sure you will NEVER get a visit / biz visa. They can sort of "smell" it from your response & demeanour. I applied & I was asked only one question - what is your purpose of visit. I had a very valid reason (of which i was even carrying proof - but was not asked to show) and the officer there straightaway gave me a green slip & said "You have been granted visa". Nothing else was asked or proffered. A few days later I got a call from Aramex who asked me to come & collect my passport. It had a 10 yr multiple entry visa. Carry with you your bank statement from India and Q8, your job contract & a copy of your salary slip, to 'prove' to them that you have an interest AND intention of coming back. PERIOD. Don't go scared & if they do not give you visa "heaven is not going to fall". So bindaas jaane ka aur bindaas rehne ka ;) All the best.

I had applied for US visa in 2012 and got rejected.
I applied for US visa in 2016 and got VISA.
My financial situation had considerably improved from 2012 to 2016. I carried all docs that proves that I will return to Kuwait such as salary certificate, bank statement etc. but no one asked me to produce those docs. I was very confident in answering and got the US visa approval on the spot. Have been to US since then.

Confidence is the key. Otherwise they will start doubting your intention.

Hello All,
Further to this discussion on US Visit visa, I applied for me, husband and 2 kids. So at the end of the interview, they said visa granted for husband and kids and my application is on hold for further administrative processing. They handed over the blue paper to me and asked to fill the form DS-5535. They said process may take from 2 months - 6 months. The form had almost had the same questions as the main application. So why was this form given to me. Where did I go wrong. i want to know what exactly to try to find out through this process and what are the chances of getting the visa. Im hoping for the best. Dont want to go through the process all over again. Do pray for me.

@ Reena Roy.
Check what is the clause no. written in the slip handed over to you. Search Google for that clause no. and you will know the reason of "hold".
On a lighter note, may be they realized that you fight a lot with your husband so they approved visa for him so he will travel and you stay here. Penalty for you. Ha ha ha dont get angry.......
