Academic Guidance: Providing guidance to students regarding their academic goals, course selections, and career pathways. This may involve assisting students in creating academic plans and identifying resources for academic support.
Personal Counseling: Offering individual counseling sessions to address personal issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, and self-esteem.
Crisis Intervention: Responding to crises such as mental health emergencies, substance abuse issues, and incidents of violence.
Group Counseling: Facilitating group counseling sessions on topics such as stress management, communication skills, and mindfulness.
Advocacy and Referrals: Advocating for students' needs and rights within the school or university system.
Conflict Resolution: Assisting students in resolving conflicts with peers, faculty, or administrators through mediation and conflict resolution techniques.
Preventive Programs: Developing and implementing preventive programs aimed at promoting mental health, wellness, and resilience among students. These programs may include stress reduction initiatives, suicide prevention efforts, and awareness campaigns on relevant issues.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals. Adhering to strict ethical and legal standards regarding confidentiality and privacy of student information.
Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborating with faculty, staff, and parents to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
