Let’s respect this Great Man

“These sudden joys have sudden endings. They burn up in victory like fire and gunpowder” is a quote of Sir William Shakespeare. He is regarded as one of the best English writer’s and dramatist globally. On behalf of him his birthday is celebrated on 23rd April every year as World Book Day. It is an event which was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO). This day promotes reading, publishing and copywriting of literature articles.

William Shakesphere is an author who writes captivating stories, comedy dramas, worthwhile poems etc. He has 39 plays,154 sonnets,3 narrative long poems. Some of his popular plays are Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, King Lear, The comedy of errors and many more…...

Biography -

William Shakespeare was believed to be born on 23rd April 1564 at Stratford-upon-Avon. He married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18 and have 3 children Susanna, Hamnet and Judith who were twins but Hamnet died at the age of 11. He started writing plays at the early 1590’s. Sadly he left for heaven on 23rd April 1616 at Stratford and most shocking thing was that he died at his believed birth date itself.

Thus, as an honour of respect for this great man we celebrate World book day worldwide.
