‘Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.’
The Farewell for grade XII batch of 2022-23 was conducted on Tuesday 31st January 2023. The theme of the programme was ‘Bollywood Stars’ where the students were dressed in elegant formal attire and ethnic wear. Class XI welcomed the students by applauding them. The ceremony began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur, Manager Mr. Mohammad Ali, Vice Principal Mrs. Husena Khedawala, Head Mistress Mrs. Jinshy Ajish, and the respective teachers. A prayer service was conducted with recitations taken from the Holy Quran, the Bible and the Bhagavad-Gita thus creating a feeling of solidarity and unity.
The Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur addressed the students with her words of wisdom about being a star and serving mankind. They were also told to work hard for the upcoming XII Board Examinations. Filling the atmosphere with ethereal flames, the outgoing students held candles and were given blessings by the teachers during the blessing ceremony thus illuminating the divine presence. The students were urged to go out into the world and spread the light of wisdom and knowledge.
To celebrate memorable endings and new beginnings the school flags were handed over by Prince Pandey the Head Boy and Farzana Sonia the Head Girl to the Vice Head Boy Abdul Qudoos and Vice Head Girl Akilah Akbar Ali thus signifying the passing of the baton of responsibilities from the outgoing batch to the juniors. It was then followed by a cheerful group of singers who mesmerized the crowd with their talent. Then it was time to commemorate the occasion with the distribution of the mementos as a symbol of their life in school.
The audience broke in to a frenzy as the students danced to the beats of foot-tapping music. This was yet another opportunity for the XI graders to display their multi-faceted talents. The much-awaited Mr. IIS and Ms. IIS competition began where the contestants walked the ramp during the first round. Later they were short-listed and were asked questions. Awards for different categories were given based on the students’ personalities. The Mr. IIS and Ms. IIS awards were given to Rio Joby and Reem Miskin respectively. Several games were also organized where in the students participated very enthusiastically thus creating an atmosphere of fun and frolic. After the games the students danced to several Bollywood songs.
The Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur bid adieu to a very talented and loved batch of Integrated Indian School. The students were then invited to a lunch buffet. The program was a grand success thanks to the efforts of Class XI students and their teachers. Integrated Indian School wishes its students all the best for their future.
