The festival of “Hala February” which means ‘Welcome February’ in Arabic is celebrated to mark the liberation of Kuwait. It starts from the first day of the month and lasts until the last of February. 25th and 26th of February being the most important days as it is commemorated as the National and Liberation Day of Kuwait.
Hala February is the most popular and much awaited festival in Kuwait. Its strikes a chord in the heart of every child growing up in the Kuwait.
After a span of 3 years, IIS campus came alive with the celebration of the auspicious occasion of Hala February, by the students of IIS with great enthusiasm. Students of grade 8, put up a fabulous show on the occasion of National and Liberation Day of Kuwait.
The assembly started by invoking the blessings of the almighty with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran followed by the salutation and the Kuwait national anthem to pay homage to Kuwait.
The speech on the topic ‘Hala February ‘was presented in English as well as in Arabic. The students of grade 8, presented a skit which portrayed how Kuwait gained its independence. Vibrant Arabic music and dance performances enchanted the audience
The assembly concluded with the speech of wisdom by IIS principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur. She greeted everyone on the occasion of Kuwait national and liberation day. She spoke about the benevolence of the Amir of Kuwait and reminded children how Kuwait supported all expats during covid-19 pandemic.
