On one side you can see waves thrashing up the beach, the date palm that swayed in the light breeze, the slight chirping of birds and the bright sky could make up one’s day on a lazy winter morning. To add to all of it, was the charming sight of the rosy pink flamingos. This is not the land of an imaginary fairy tale, but of a beautiful country, KUWAIT. This where I am brought since my childhood.
For those of you who wish to see sports cars zooming along the highway, horns honked at every car ahead, and the skyscrapers that towered in every direction, people hurrying through every way would probably a dream come true. Most definitely a common sight in New York, but not in many small countries, with an exception of, yes, KUWAIT.
With the limitations of a small country, today, Kuwait thrives as one of the well – known countries in the world; excelling in several fields ranging from oil reserves and cultures to sports and research. Kuwait, though a desert country, with hot and arid climate, the country is filled with greenery, plants and trees, giving it a peaceful and calm atmosphere. But this however, does not intervene with the heat (doesn’t bother me, it only means extended summer vacation).
Kuwait has explored and excelled the field of science and research extensively. Why, it even built a satellite which was eventually launched by Space X. I guess, research also plays a big role in the fact that the oil reserves of Kuwait is the 6th largest in the world. Kuwait produces 7 % of the world’s oil and export it to several countries. Oil also contributes to the main income of Kuwait.
Kuwait also has a great number of architectural beauties. Many of you probably don’t even notice them. You know, what they say, you see it every day and you get outright bored. For instance, the Al Hamra Tower is like a folded paper. It’s very rare that you get to see such a complicated, unique and elegant building. Also the Kuwait Tower, it’s beautiful. I, for one, never get tired for the amazing building even though I see it very regularly (I hope you don’t too).
In conclusion, Kuwait has a vast expansion in several fields and will continue to achieve. But, this beautiful country must not be taken for granted. It is our responsibility to cherish and nurture the already developed things and to develop things for the future, because in the end, IT’S OUR FUTURE.
