The Indian Dentists' Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) recently spearheaded an engaging initiative, the 'Basic Life Hackathon,' aimed at equipping children above 10 years old with crucial life skills. The event, organized by the Cultural Committee under the leadership of Dr. Aysha John, garnered enthusiasm from participants, parents and organizers alike.

Inaugurating the Hackathon, IDAK General Secretary Dr. Jijan Sam Thomas, emphasized the importance of such activities for youth, acknowledging the necessity to prepare them for various life scenarios. Dr. Jijan extended gratitude to all involved in conceptualizing and executing the event.

The 'Basic Life Hackathon' comprised of three comprehensive sessions designed to address everyday challenges and foster creativity among the young participants. The first segment featured an interactive discussion led by Educational Psychologist Mrs. Simi Rajesh on "Overcoming Challenges", which was greatly appreciated by the young participants.

Subsequent sessions delved into practical life skills, covering topics such as table etiquette, basic electrical and plumbing fixes, stitching, shoe lace tying, tie knots, as well as fostering creative abilities through activities like pour painting, cookie baking, and string art.

The event witnessed active participation from members of the Cultural Committee, including Dr. Aysha John, Dr. Pramod Menon, Dr. Santosh C V, Dr. Prabha Ramabhadran, Dr. Reeby Sara Thomas, and Dr. Parvathy Rajkumar, who led the hands-on training sessions.

Dr. George P Alex, President of IDAK, commended the organizing team for their innovative endeavor and pledged continued support for similar initiatives in the future. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to all participants by IDAK's Vice President Dr. Roshila Mathew, President Elect Dr. Shalin Simon, and Joint Secretaries Dr. Asheel Mohammed and Dr. Amrita Geevarghese.

In a gesture of appreciation, Cultural Committee Co-Chair Dr. Pramod Menon extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, parents and IDAK volunteers Dr Srikanth Reddy, Dr. Sudhin Kurien, Dr. Jyothy V Kuriakose, Dr. Remya Mathew and Mrs. Regina Thomas whose contributions made the event a resounding success. He also thanked Mango Hyper and Al Mulla Exchange Company for their financial support for IDAK activities.

The 'Basic Life Hackathon' stands as a testament to IDAK's commitment to nurturing the holistic development of the younger generation.
