Authorities targeting mobile towers on residential buildings

The team from Ministry of Electricity and Water is targeting the violating telecommunication towers in private residential areas based on the decisions of the Municipal Council.

The presence of telecommunication towers in private residential areas and the subsequent violations related to electricity extensions and the increase in pressure on the network are considered as serious violations in accordance with resolution No. 121/2017, which prohibits the extension of electric power without the approval of the ministry.

According to local report, this is the first time that such a move is being made to stop the violations of these towers in private residential areas.

The report said that power was cut off to a number of these towers, after warnings were given and posters were placed to instruct their removal.

Erecting these towers in residential buildings requires approval from Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Health, Directorate General for Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Communication.
