Bhavans Kindergarten School celebrated Children’s Day

November 14 is the most awaited day for the children in India and the Indian children residing abroad. It not only commemorates the birthday of the first Prime Minister of India, but it signifies the immense love he had for the children. He once said, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.” The concept of celebrating children’s day came up after Nehru’s demise in 1964. In other countries, Universal children’s day is celebrated on November 20 every year.

The Kindergarten section of IES Bhavans and Jack and Jill, leave no stones unturned when it comes to celebrations. Children’s Day celebration is a special one for the children as this is the day when the children immensely enjoy watching their teachers perform on stage. They also get to wear their favourite coloured dress on this day! One can witness their gleaming faces, cheering while watching the endless repertoire of dance, drama and skit. The Children’s Day celebration on 14 November 2019 was no exception, in terms of full on entertainment! As every year a teacher was disguised as Chachaji, clad in his traditional attire, with the ever so famous, “Nehru cap” neatly crowned on his head. The teachers then sang the phonic rhymes with actions that are taught in the class. The children happily sang along. This was followed by a puppet show about the Blue Jackal from Panchatantra and finally a hilarious dance-drama that left the children laughing out loud! Jack and Jill teachers also presented a puppet show on ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and performed dances to entertain the children. Later an activity related to the celebration was done in the class. Photographs were clicked against the decorated bulletin board. Celebrations don’t come to an end here. It continues….

‘A child is a beam of sunlight from the Infinite and eternal, with possibilities of virtue and vice, but as yet unstained.” Lyman Abbott.
