Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Environment Public Authority (EPA) officials recently issued a citation to some Asians under Article 108 of the Environmental Protection Law, which prohibits fishing in Kuwait in a designated area considered environmentally harmful activity.

According to Al-Qabas daily, those caught fishing carries a fine of up to KD 5,000 or imprisonment for one year. The men were caught fishing in Kuwait’s Bay using different fishing gear.

The EPA also carried out an inspection campaign in a clinic in Farwaniya Governorate and a central market, where a number of violations related to engineering requirements were monitored, as well as other violations cited to a group of restaurants in Hawalli Governorate for causing sewage blockage due to accumulation of oil and several irregularities in accordance with Article 18 of the law for restaurants.
