Four Indians killed in Abbasiya apartment fire

In another tragic fire incident, four members of a family killed in a fire at their apartment in Abbasiya. The incident happened on Friday night.

Mathew Mulackal, his wife Lini Abraham, two children Issac and Irine lost their life in the fire. The family hails from Kerala. Reportedly, they returned back from their vacation on Friday morning. As per initial report, the fire started from the air conditioner unit at their apartment.

Mathew was working with Reuters, his wife Lini is a staff nurse at Adan hospital. The children are studying at Bhavans Kuwait, Issac in Grade 4 and Irine in Grade 9.

Window AC should service and clean once in a year.. spent 10kd ...low quality products from some countries ..avoid...after vacation, check ac or clean, before starts.. some time birds make nest also in window ac units.

Now days the Apartments maintenance is very poor and the building owners ignores to do any external repairs.
They only increase the rents...

In Kuwait most of flats there is no any securities. Building owners they never come to their properties and check the building facilities such as Lift,
Most of building haris very rude to residents they never hear about our concern
Fire alarm in each flat should be kept Government has take the precautionary measures to implement it

Very sad to hear, Atleast every bedroom need standalone smoke detector with inbuilt sounder to wake up people if the smoke comes....No other ways to succeed this. Or building shud have atleast good fire alarm system

Its very sad incident happend. They just came back from vacation and nobody in the building knows they are returned. All the other tenants were evacuated and may be nobody noticed this family thinking they are on vaction. There was not that much flames, but only smokes. Prayers.
