IES Wrests IBPC ‘Best Performing School’ Trophy for Academic Excellence in Class 12

Indian Education School, Kuwait, shrugged off competition on the academic front from 14 Indian schools to lift the coveted ‘Best Performing School’ trophy for Class XII for the year 2018-19, instituted by Indian Business and Professional Council, in a glittering Meritorious Students Awards ceremony held on 14th December 2019 at Salmiya Indian Model School, Kuwait.

Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) has always been on the forefront to identify and inspire young minds to greater avenues of experiential enrichment. As part of this, IBPC put up Meritorious Students Awards 2019 to honour students of Class X and Class XII, who excelled in terms of their academic performance in CBSE exams. The awards were presented both for subject achievement as well as the overall high marks percentage. Students of Indian schools and the Principals of the performing schools were also recognized and awarded for overall academic performance in Class X and XII which is calculated on the basis of a weighted average system.

The ‘Meet and Greet Session’ with the senior award-winning students that preceded the event, witnessed the dynamic exchange of boundless energy and enthusiasm as students cashed in on the opportunity to interact and learn from their peers. Mr. Anant Kapadia, Chairman of IBPC, welcomed the gathering. His Excellency, Dr. Shamir Ally, the Ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Though many schools basked in academic glory, IES hogged the limelight for its staggering academic performance in Class XII. The crowd erupted in cheers when Mr. T. Premkumar, Principal of IES, along with the students, lifted the ‘Best Performing School’ trophy for Class XII, courtesy the enterprising students and their incredible teachers.

IBPC congratulated the award winners and vowed their unstinting support to further quality education among the Indian Community in Kuwait.

Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East expressed his contentment in the meritorious journey of Bhavans Kuwait. Bhavans continues to walk tall on merit, and the inflow of academic awards stand testimony to this simple fact.

@Alex, truly educated persons are like that. They are humble and down to earth. The two persons you mentioned are educated well and they don''t need the approval of common man. Dr. Shamir is an exemplary human being with Indianism in his blood and he has won the hearts of Indians and locals alike like Mr. Sunil Jain. Bhavans Principal needs no introduction and I have interacted with him for admission. Even when he had to decline LKG admission which is beyond his jurisdiction, he was humble enough to give a good alternate solution with at most humility and a simple apology. That''s what is educated people are made of. Thank you @Alex for sharing the event episode.

Excellent initiative by IBPC and I should say the only organization that appreciates academic excellence. That night when the MCs announced the name of the Bhavans Principal, the ambassador with open arms went to greet him and exchanged a customary hug and a hand shake welcoming. I learnt two things that night - One how humble the Guyanese ambassador is to welcome an educator who is known in Kuwait for the growth of Bhavans - Two how educators are honored if they really touched the hearts of all. Later the Bhavans Principal received the trophy from same H.E Dr. Shamir Aly the ambassador of Guyana. Salute you ambassador. Kudos Bhavans
