Kuwait Cricket Board has appointed South African cricket coach and former cricketer Herschelle Gibbs as the mentor of the Kuwait National Men’s team for the upcoming Gulf Cricket T20I Championship and the ICC - International Cricket Council T20 World Cup Qualifiers match. The Kuwait National Men’s team is led by skipper Mnm Aslam.

Both the tournaments will be hosted by Qatar Cricket Association with all the participating teams arriving in Doha on the 13th of September.

Herschelle Gibbs has had a successful track record with Kuwait Cricket having mutiple engagements in the past decade with the most memorable one being back in 2018 where he spent almost five months in Kuwait as the head coach of the men’s team and helped Kuwait qualify for the final leg of ICC T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers after having beaten Saudi Arabia in a nail biting finale at the famous entertainment city cricket ground.

Kuwait kicks off their Gulf Championship campaign on the 15th of September against Saudi Arabia.

Kuwait Cricket Board, management and the men’s squad is excited and hopeful that Gibbs’s mentorship will bring back similar results and add tremendous value to the overall setup of the team which is all set and raring to go.
