Kuwait extends the time gap for second dose of vaccine

The Ministry of Health extended the time to administer second dose of the Pfizer vaccine to 6 weeks after the first dose. However, for those above 60 years of age and for those with chronic diseases, the second dose will be given after 3 weeks.

Ministry also decided to give the second dose of the Oxford vaccine after a period of 3 to 4 months from the first dose, due to the delay of getting the vaccine from the manufacturers as global demand increases.

The Ministry confirmed that the delay between two doses are as per the time frame authorized by the manufacturers to ensure the effectiveness of the vaccination, and is within the approved protocols for the Covid-19 vaccine around the world.
