The total number of non-Kuwaiti workers in the country, excluding domestic workers, reached 1,678,958 by the end of 2023, statistics from the Central Statistical Bureau in Kuwait indicated. In December 2022, the total number was 1,593,496. The non-Kuwaitis constitute 78.7 percent of the workforce in the country.
According to statistics, the total number of Kuwaiti workers reached 454,038 compared to the total number of 442,647 in December 2022.
The number of workers in the domestic sector is 786,231.
Meanwhile, among the non-Kuwaitis, Indians ranked first in the number of its workers, as their number reached 535,083 individuals in December 2023, compared to 497,087 individuals a year ago, followed by the Egyptians with 476,866 individuals.
While the number of Indians recorded an increase, the number of Egyptians workers decreased by about 6,000.
The year 2023 also recorded an increase of workers from Bangladesh by about 18,000, and a big jump in the number of workers from Nepal by about 17,000, where the percentage of increase reached about 27 percent (From 62,930 in 2022 to 80,313 in 2023).
