Vibrant Colourful  Pookalams adorns eMall for IIK-Eureka Onam Pookalam Contest

Vibrant Colourful Pookalams made by the participants of IIK-Eureka Onam Pookalam Contest adorns the eMall Hawally, thanks to Kuwait's most popular electronics showroom Eureka.

Indiansinkuwait.com for the first time in association with Eureka conducted "Onam Pookalam" (Flower Carpet) Competition to celebrate the festival of Onam at eMall, Hawali. Many teams participated in the contest. The contest was held on Friday, September 15th.

Presence of King Mahabali at the contest gave a feeling of Onam celebration to the participating teams and audience.

The 1st Prize Winner Ms Kavitha Ramaratnam and Team won 80KD cash voucher from Eureka, while the 2nd Prize winner Ms Midhya Sudheesh and team won 60 KD cash voucher and 3rd Prize winner Ms Priya and Team won 40 KD cash voucher from Eureka. In addition to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, all other participating teams got a 10 KD cash voucher from Eureka. There were also spot prizes where winners received gift vouchers from Eureka.

The annual Harvest Festival ‘Onam’ is a major event for Malayali people, not only in Kerala but also in Kuwait. One of the festival traditions includes the creation of Onam-Pookalam (floor decoration created from flowers) to adorn their home and bring good luck. Eureka announced this Onam Pookalam competition for the first time in Kuwait, where a large number of teams participated. The event was well anchored by Ms Rachana.

Participants and winners were overjoyed and thanked IIK and Eureka for conducting this contest.
