Zafran Indian Bistro with innovative Indian Cuisines

Indian Cuisines are packed with interesting ingredients and enticing aromas that make it super delicious. Zafran Indian Bistro Restaurant offers innovative Indian Cuisines that will delight food lovers.

Zafran Indian Bistro Restaurant is located in Light Complex, Mahboula. As we enter the complex we could see that the restaurant had a wonderful outdoor dining surrounded by greenery. The Restaurant has a lovely reception where we were greeted and escorted to the spacious dining area. There were Sofas, as well as chairs and tables. There is an open kitchen where we could see live cooking taking place. Kebabs and Tandooris are prepared in the open Kitchen. We sat in a U shaped sofa which was very cosy and comfortable. The Decor and Ambience was breath-taking. The decor is imbued with splashes of black and white wood, giving the restaurant a sophisticated look. There were chandeliers with the Kuwait Flag colour lights - Red, White and Green. On the whole we loved the environment.

The Restaurant focuses on North West Indian cuisine. I was delighted to start my culinary journey. We were first served with the usual complimentary starter 3 varieties of papads and chutneys - Pineapple chutney, Coriander chutney and Dates & Tamarind Chutney. A different combination and I loved it. Their menu is very attractive with variety of dishes both in veg and non-veg. The staffs were very friendly and suggested us their specialties. For Appetisers we had Papdi Chaat - Flour pastries & spiced mashed potatoes, topped with sweet yoghurt, tamarind & mint chutney & pomegranate and Dahee Kebab - Deep-fried yoghurt & coriander dumplings. Papdi Chaat was unique variety of Zafran. Enjoyed each byte. In Kebab we ordered Kebab Platter - Murgh Malai Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Bhatti Murgh & Murgh Anari Seekh, the 4 varieties of Chicken Kebabs was very delicious. After enjoying the Kebabs we had the main course. Chicken Zafran Biriyani - Boneless Chicken cooked in saffron basmati rice, flavoured with mace & cardamom, Butter Chicken- Chicken tikka cooked in a tomato & Cashew nut gravy, flavoured with dried fenugreek leaves, Palak Paneer- Cottage cheese cooked in a spinach gravy, tempered with cumin & garlic and some Naans & Parathas. Butter Chicken was sweet and different from the usual, but a great combination with Biriyani. For beverages we had Rose and Mint lemonade. At the end, we were offered Flourless Chocolate Cake – Dark Chocolate cake made with egg & sugar served with Caramel crumble. A wonderful ending to our culinary journey.

All the cuisines at Zafran are presented in a stylised fashion and had unique flavour. The spices used were to perfection giving a wonderful flavour and aroma to every dish. We got to explore new flavours of Indian Cuisine.

Zafran Indian Bistro Restaurant has a seating capacity of 140 Diners. Outside it’s around 25 to 30 seaters capacity. The Restaurant is open from 12 am – 12 am on all days. They provide home deliveries. No need to worry about getting parking place as there is plenty of parking place at the side of the complex. For all food lovers who love to have authentic food frequently now can be cheerful as Zafran Indian Bistro provides on Weekdays – Sunday to Wednesday 20% Shukran Discount on their cuisine. Discount is not available on weekends – Thursday to Saturday. In an average the cost of the meal for a whole family may come around 10 to 12 KD.
