The wind blows cold along the starry sky
The place where the sun shines and birds fly
A soldier who fought for his people and nation
Goes back to the one responsible of his creation
His back acted like a shield against the bullet
Protecting his country to the fullest
His children had told him, “Come back soon”
They now weep with the family calling him a boon
Their mother’s eyes have run out of tears
While praises galore he receives from his peers
The soldier’s mother remembers the words she had said
“My son, please don’t leave. How long has it been since the last time you fed
Your own two children and tucked them in bed
Without the near future to dread?”
Her son, a nobleman replied firmly
”Mother I protect the country
Not for jewels nor for money
Laying down my life for the place that has given us a lot
What is the favours received in front of taking a shot?
His words had left his mother spellbound
Now, it was time for him to be buried in the ground
A sort of voice whispered to each one of their ears
“Dear all, I love you as much as I love my homeland
Remember me when you see the soil and sand
Don’t be sad that I’ve departed from this world
They smile as they go to and fro
While my body lies lifeless in the snow
