12,000 residencies renewed in two days after implementation of new procedure

The Residence Affairs Departments in the six governorates electronically renewed residence permits of 12,000 domestic workers in just two days after the implementation of new procedure for residency renewal.

As per the new rules and regulations, government has done away with the ‘sticker’ which was earlier placed on the passport showing the validity of the work permit.

Majority of these transactions were completed by the Farwaniya and Capital governorates.

The expatriate whose transaction has been completed is given a printout containing the residence data, signed and stamped by the department to go to the Public Authority for Civil Information for the issuance of the Civil Card on the same day.
