'Kalalaya Varnangal' as Gurudakshina

The 'Kalalaya Varnangal 2019' conducted by Bishop Moore College Alumni Association with great pomp and celebration was presented to their dear teacher as ‘Gurudakshina’.

Prof. V.C. John who has been teaching in Mavelikara Bishop Moore College since its inception in 1964 and retired as English Department head of the college was presented with the 'Guru Shreshta Puraskar' by Gulf University Science and Technology department Prof. Dr. Nile Lens. Social Worker R.C. Suresh honored him with a shawl. All the alumni since the first batch offered him Betel leaves and Areca nut as Dakshina in the traditional style.

Prof. V.C. John inaugurated the public conference in the Jleeb Smart Indian School auditorium by lighting the lamp. Indian Community School Senior Principal Dr. V. Binumon delivered the keynote address.

Alumni Association President Manoj Parimanam presided over the function and 'Kalalaya Varnangal' General Convener Jerry John Koshy welcomed the audience and treasurer Sangeeth Somanath proposed the vote of thanks. Association Secretary Babu Gopal presented with the Annual Report. Lotus Trading Company General Manager R.C. Suresh, former Student Sam Pynummood (Patron), Philip Zacharia (Dan Trading Company General Manager), Rajeev Kodamballil (Program Head, Janam TV Middle East) felicitated the audience.

Dr. V.C. John released the souvenir published on the occasion of 'Kalalaya Varnangal' by handing over the first copy to Dr. Nile Lens.

The stalwarts of South Indian Music and malyalam artists Udayan Anchal, Josy Alappuzha led the musical fusion and alumni of the college Rajeev Kodamballil and Lekha Shyam entertained the audience.
