Soorya Festival Fascinates The Audience

In association with Unimoni Exchange., Soorya Kuwait Chapter staged the “Soorya India Festival 2019, on the evening of Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Nottingham English High School Auditorium, Abbassiya, Kuwait at 7.00 PM

Sathyan Komalloor, the Master of Nadanpattu and the writer of celebrated song “Tharaka Pennaley”, inaugurated the festival, which aims to promote International Integration through culture, by lighting the lamp along with Vijay Karayil, President, Renjith Pillai, Head of Marketing, Unimoni and B.S. Pillai, General Secretary. The Chief Guest appreciated Soorya Kuwait Chapter for its excellent efforts in promoting the rich and diverse Indian Culture. General Secretary welcomed the audience.

The program a Bharatanatyam by Swehta Prachande and a Kuchipudi by Reddy Lakshmi both mesmerized the audience with their charismatic dance performances.

Swehta Prachande one of Bharatanatyam’s leading young dancers in today’s generation. Presently training under Guru Priyadarshini Govind, her dance was a mixture of crisp movements and energetic dynamism. Having learnt Kalaripayattu, the aesthetic styles and techniques that she presented, made her unique and enthralling.

Reddy Lakshmi, one of the talented Kuchipudi performers of the generation captivated the audience with her brilliant movements. With her beautiful presence and an innate grace, Reddy Lakshmi was strong in rhythm and this aspect came attractively in her recitals.

Later, the artistes were honored with gifts for their outstanding performances. Vijay Karayil and Jojo presented the gifts.

Soorya has been disseminating Indian art and culture through music and dance with its 19 chapters all over the world. Soorya is committed to propagate the rich Indian art and culture with the active support of Chief Patron Dr. B.R. Shetty, Managing Director, NMC Group of Companies.
