Kindergarten is the first concept of the school, where a child experiences the magical time away from his parent’s home. Kindergarten education helps the children perceive the school learning environment as fun and it focuses more on creative and interesting ways to explain letters, numbers and nature. The children of Indian Educational School and Jack & Jill, a branch of Bhavans at mangaf, celebrated the National Kindergarten day on 22nd April. This day honors the founder of kindergarten, Friedrich Frobel, who started the very first kindergarten in Germany in 1837. Frobel laid a foundation for modern education recognizing that the children learn through play and experience. Thus, we are indebted to pay tribute to this great man, for such an initiative that befits the moods of our blooming buds.

Our little kindergarteners came dressed in rainbow-coloured outfits, with beaming faces. After the morning assembly, they were all set in their classes to view their favourite cartoon show. The bulletin boards were decorated exclusively for the day. Activities pertaining to the day, making different birds through paper folding, creating a crown filled with rainbow colours made them experience the wonderment and joy of erecting their own piece of art in the class.

Class photographs were clicked against the decorated backdrop. The teachers explained the significance of the day by making the children understand the necessity of games which kindles their minds with curiosity towards self-exploration.

We, at Bhavans always provide opportunities towards learning and engaging our little ones socially. These ‘Play-centered activities’ are some of the ways to get them ready for the school and later for life.
