Kuwait police arrested European for installing card skimming device at ATM

The Capital police arrested a Romanian national for installing a card skimming device at an ATM in Kuwait City.

According to report, the Romanian national entered the country four days back on visit visa. The bank securitymen noticed the suspect and alerted the police, which lead to his arrest.

Meanwhile, Boubyan Bank officials confirmed that the vigilance of security personnel and the latest techniques used in the bank ATMs was able to discover the fraud attemt at one of its ATM center and cancel it in a few minutes and arrest the perpetrator.

Skimming device is a card reader which can be disguised to look like a part of the ATM machine. The card reader saves the users' card number and pin code, which is then replicated into a counterfeit copy for theft.
