Rousing reception to Minister V Muraleedharan in Kuwait

Thousands of Indians from all walks of life attend the reception hosted by Indian Embassy. The event was held at Millenium hotel in Salmiya.

Minister V Muraleedharan, who is the first minister visiting Kuwait from the second Narendra Modi government, was in Kuwait for a two-day official trip. Minister will start his official meeting with Kuwaiti authority’s tomorrow.

"You are the real Ambassadors of India,' Minister told the large crowd attended the event. Narendra Modi government take all possible efforts to connect to the Indian community across the world. He recalled that during the last five years, 4 visit were made to Kuwait by India’s external affairs Ministers.

Narendra Modi govern want have a big ambition to bring the Indian economy to 5 trillion US Dollar. "I am inviting each one of you to join the effort of this transformational journey of transforming India into a 5 trillion-dollar economy," Minister said.



Several issues faced by Indian community in Kuwait will be discussed with the Kuwait Authorities, minister told during his community meeting with Indians.

"Earlier today I visited the Indian Embassy shelter where around 52 Indian women were waiting to return back to India. They are all duped by the fake recruitment agencies in India. Those who came to Kuwait to work as domestic workers and are recruited by authorized recruitment agencies are not facing any problem here, but those are duped by our own fake agencies are having difficulties. Our Central government is trying to make necessary changes to the immigration rule so that these kind of fake recruitment will be stopped. This will come into effect very soon and we will be able to stop all these issues", Minister said.

Minister also told that he will discuss the issue of Indian engineers who is facing difficulties with their engineering certification with the Kuwaiti authorities. "We will continue our follow-up with Kuwaiti authorities until the issuers of all Indians engineers are solved", Minister told. The nurse’s recruitment from India to Kuwait will be done only through government agencies. Will finalize the process with authorities, Minister said.

Minister also briefed about various steps taken by the Narendra Modi government to reach out to the Indians across the borders.

Minister also interacted with the audience and received memorandum from various associations and representatives.
