About 90 percent illegal shops in Jleeb sealed

The Municipality continues its campaign to “clean up” Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Al-Hasawi areas, and about 90 percent of the shops in Muhammad Bin Al-Qasim Street have been closed. The campaign witnessed the closure of shops and removal of illegally erected shades, in addition to cutting power supply to shops violating the law.

Deputy Director General of the Municipal Affairs Ammar Al-Ammar stated that the Director General of Municipality and chairperson of the committee in charge of affairs in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Engineer Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, had set a three-month period to change the face of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh by 70 percent. She explained the main violations committed against the municipality include shops opened without licenses, using licensed plots for other purposes, and infringements on state property.

According to report, 263 shops have been closed since the start of the campaign in Jleeb area.
