Large number of Indians celebrated Republic Day in Kuwait

Despite the cold weather, large number of Indians gathered at the Indian embassy premises in Kuwait to celebrate the Republic Day of India. India's 71st Republic Day was celebrated by unfurling of the tri-colour National Flag by Ambassador Mr. K. Jeeva Sagar, the singing of the National Anthem and the reading out of the Hon’ble President’s Address to the Nation.

Large number of Indians from all walks of life attends the celebration. The event started by garlanding the Mahatma Gandhi Statue by the Ambassador K Jeeva Sagar. Students from various Indian schools attended the function by singing patriotic songs.

Ambassador in his speech to the community highlighted the efforts done by the Embassy in various issues faced by the community. He appreciated some community members who always come forward to support the embassy in dealing with various issues faced by the Indian community. He also highlighted that with the help of the official authorities in Kuwait, the embassy was able to give relief to several Indians who are in distress with some or the other reason. He extended his warmest greetings to all members of the Indian community in Kuwait and thanked the State of Kuwait and its leadership for all the support they provide to the large Indian community.

Earlier, the Muhammadee Scout of Bohra Community band played a variety of marching tunes to the delight of the assembled gathering.
